Denver Education Summit Is Just One Way Steamatic Franchise Provides Ongoing Training

Posted Mar 28th, 2017

Our comprehensive training programs cover everything from equipment maintenance to our state-of-the-art business management software to help ensure your restoration franchise is successful

Steamatic restoration franchise owners know that when it comes to learning the ins and outs of running a business, our training programs are second to none. We’ve invested a considerable amount of time and resources into building one of the best training programs in franchising, taking the guesswork out of running a thriving enterprise.

What sets us apart from the competition? First and foremost, we never rest. Training is an ongoing part of everything we do at Steamatic, according to Bill Helton, Steamatic Franchise Development Director. Currently, Bill and the training team are hard at work completing one of our signature events.

“We’re putting the finishing touches on an education summit in Denver, which is something the franchisees look forward to,” Bill says. Every other year, Steamatic franchisees gather for the international franchise summit, which we held last year. On the years in between, we host the education summit. “There’s quite a bit of additional training, breakout sessions, and even speakers from the major third party administrators from across the country.”

Since 1968, Steamatic has been the pioneer restoration and cleaning franchise, providing residential and commercial restoration solutions for water, fire and mold damage around the world. We have a unique hub-and-spoke business model; in addition to restoration, Steamatic also cleans HVAC systems and air ducts, carpets, rugs, furniture, draperies and hard surfaces like stone, tile, hardwoods and countertops. When it comes to succeeding in this exciting, booming industry, Steamatic training programs provide everything you need to know about business systems, cleaning processes and maintaining the equipment.

Here are just a couple of ways in which the training programs in our restoration franchise stand out.

Training starts ahead of time with online onboarding

When new franchise owners arrive at training, the last thing they want to discover is that they forgot to take care of certain critical steps. Too often, new owners of a franchise system spend as much time on the phone, fixing problems as they do in the classroom.

That’s not the case with the Steamatic franchise, which provides new owners with structured, ordered steps that are online. These steps help the owner focus on completing one necessary item before moving onto the next. Everything is right there, available 24/7, in an ordered, easy-to-use and accessible manner. The benefit is clear.

“It speeds up the process, but it also makes sure that nothing falls through the cracks,” Bill says. “You have to complete one step before you can move on to the next. It’s a clear path forward, and as close to a foolproof system for onboarding.”

Steamatic University instills a comprehensive operations strategy

After franchisees complete pre-training via the online onboarding program, they receive a more detailed education at Steamatic University — a two-week training at our Fort Worth, Texas, corporate headquarters.

Franchisees spend about five days in classroom instruction and doing hands-on training to get their Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification in water and fire damage restoration. These certifications notify insurance companies that franchisees know the proper way to get a cleaning and restoration job done.

“Through on-site training in Fort Worth, franchisees learn how to run their businesses, how to operate the equipment, best practices for using that equipment, and so on,” Bill says. “And because they’re coming in well-prepared, we can maximize their classroom time.”

The results speak for themselves. When you leave training, you’re an expert in the Steamatic way of doing business, a leader in restoration and water damage mitigation and well on the way to growing a thriving restoration franchise.
